Slow Golf in Brooklyn

Today we played golf at Marine Park golf club in Brooklyn. As expected, it was ridiculously slow.

The course is great, we both love it - but it is not worth the insane expenses and the slow play. Our tee time was 11:37. We finished our round at 5:30.

Oh the bright side - I (Sarah) broke 100. 47 on the front. 49 on the back. I should have done better - but I have yet to knock off the rust. Sandy and I need to become friends again (sand wedge). Big Bertha and I are getting along swimmingly (the driver). I scared the driver into submission by mentioning the possibility of a new purchase. Motivation for graphite.

Also on the bright side - my new shoes are awesome. I made sure to do random hops and stretches in order to make myself feel active.

Just so you all know - it costs roughly $140ish for two people to play a round of golf with a cart in Brooklyn. Oh, and this was a deal.

Slow golfers make me want to climb a tree and launch water balloons in the general direction of the offenders. But then again, Mike will just hit into them.

Marine Park Course: 3 stars for design and general course
Fees/deals/pace of pay: 1 star

Drive two hours for a better deal. In the end, you will sit on the BQE for an hour anyway.

Golf in Brooklyn

Today we are going to golf at Marine Park. Translation: we are going to get frustrated by slow pay and excessive fees.

I will update on the course.

I need a new driver (golf)

Sarah here.

Alright, I am considering a massive purchase - well, massive for a public employee. I would like to get a new driver. I currently have an older version of a Nike Machspeed. I have to over-adjust in order to hit it just right. When I hit it well - I rock the golf course. Unfortunately, that is rare because fit is hard to consistently stand in an over-corrected stance.

So please send me recommendations for a new driver. I am thinking TaylorMade.

Things that should be noted: I have low ball flight, I have insane power, and I generally hit it straight or slightly to the right.

Pat Summitt Steps Down

Out of all of the basketball camps I went to as a girl, the Tennessee camp was by far the most demanding. Pat Summitt had us up and out of our slumber caves early in the morning and kept us out late at night. During that time we did non-stop drills or games.

I did not really appreciate the camp at the time. I was a teenager. But in retrospect, it was a great experience.

Random memory: As a kid, I frequently had a bloody nose. The change in temperature, a flick to the face, or even sniffing made me bleed. With that being said, I had a bloody nose at the camp. Instead of pawning me off on a trainer, Pat Summitt loaded me up in her golf cart and took me to a biological repair facility. She was very nice. And I love riding in golf carts. All in all, it was a fun experience - blood aside.

The Secrecy of Jim Irsay

According to ESPN, Jim Irsay and the Colts defensive hire powers have decided on the number one pick. Apparently it is a secret.

Tom Hanks needs to decode a lyric-driven cryptic tweet by Jim Irsay.

Just wear the tweed, Hanks-y.

NFL schedules

The Pats have the easiest schedule, according to twitter.

Shock.

Celebrity Apprentice Running Commentary (April 15th)

....AND we are back! Running commentary for our favorite guilty pleasure. Well, one of our favorites....

We think Lisa gets the boot this week. The previews made her seem like she is near a Mount Lisa meltdown....

  1. I am hoping the Donald plays the piano keys on the floor, but if he tried he would probably fall and break a hip.
  2. Eric Trump makes a return- do you think he feels like the least important Trump?  I'm waiting for the 7 year old to come out and become a board room adviser.
  3. No Don Jr? Okay, we will try to power through.
  4. Paul vs. Lisa? Testosterone overflow? ;)
  5. What kind of church did Clay Aiken belong to?
  6. I like how they cruise around in a pedo van.
  7. This show will be a disaster for someone- the kind of you won't believe what they said disaster.  I just hope it comes soon before my interest in Words with Friends distracts me too much.
  8. Lisa should let Dayana self-destruct.
  9. Paul with the devastating back injury- this is Donnie Baseball territory.  Hopefully the injury didn't occur due to horse play with Kevin Maas. Wait, did he just strike out?
  10. Did Brian Henson win the genetic lottery?  He inherited The Muppet's.  He made money from a crappy movie.  Ghh.
  11. Why doesn't Penn play left tackle in the Arena league?
  12. Penn is going to start skanking soon. Ska joke.
  13. Eric Trump is 6'5".  I wish Kieffer Sutherland was on this season so we could see that he is only 5'3", and lose all respect for Jack Bauer.
  14. Sometimes I feel like a puppet (Sarah).
  15. Why mention the genitalia Arseneo?
  16. And boobs on the puppet?  Driving in the pedo van?  Call Ice-T for a Special Victims cross over episode.
  17. If I could create a puppet - it would be blue and I would name it 'adopted smurf'......
  18. Aubrey is really paranoid.  I think she is going to have a break down hosting.  However, because of her hair and overall look, people may think she in fact is a puppet and the breakdown is part of the show.
  19. Sarah created a puppet once. For a class. She got an A. Bravo.
  20. For a grade, SPED graduate school teachers create puppets. Not much different than the students.
  21. You know this isn't a great episode when I am more interested in a Ford Taurus commercial than the rest of the episode.  Yikes.
  22. I wish Penn would fart. How loud and funny would that be? Or Lisa.
  23. Lisa.  And Eric Trump would probably vomit.
  24. Whenever Ivanka shows up - she laughs awkwardly. I bet she snorts when she laughs really hard. She would probably crack up if she saw her clothing line at Macy's. It looks like the season of fall pooped on the racks.
  25. I don't think Ivanka would ever go to a Macy's.  She has private shoppers.
  26. Seeing Roger Sterling makes me want to watch Mad Men.  sorry Donald, u should have brought in Jr.
  27. Teresa has skated by so far only due to greater incompetence- I know a few people like that.
  28. I love Eric. But Eric is a p word in the boardroom. Jr. has charisma and spunk.
  29. Did Lisa just rat on Debbie and her droppings?!
  30. Lisa is just being mean.  No one likes the mean girl Lisa.
  31. What just happened? I went to play a word on WWF and heard blubbering.
  32. I just had nuts that tasted like NYC - overpriced garbage.
  33. Speaking of NYC - it is supposed to get hot tomorrow. Hot garbage. MMM
  34. That puppet show wasn't funny. Avenue Q set the bar high.
  35. Fortunately for Lisa - Aubrey is not funny.
  36. No it wasn't that funny- I wonder how Lisa feels to have been upstaged by Clay?  And Teresa is going to suck it up.  Maybe she will try to flip the board room table again.
  37. No Don Jr is like no James Spader on the office. Not worthwhile.
  38. Lisa is flipping crazy- is she going through menopause?
  39. She goes by the name "queen of mean" and doesn't think she hurts peoples feelings?  Sure.
  40. Sarah disagrees. Lisa is a big softy. No one takes stand-up personal. I don't think people leave her show with hurt feelings.
  41. I take stand up personally Sarah.  Your set the other night killed me.
  42. Just fire Teresa.  She was terrible.  Just awful.  Fire her now.   Save us the 20 minutes of board room drama.
  43. I wish Aubrey would just jump 110% and go back to the moon.
Final thoughts: Jr. needs to come back.
