Conflicted.
This is my running face.
Hi there. Sarah here. I was born and bred (farm animal reference to an unfair stereotype) in Indiana. For the past four-ish years I have lived in Brooklyn, NY. I am a relatively simple woman that occasionally dabbles in complexity. I enjoy reading, writing, people watching, sports, British comedy, American dramas, and silently judging others. In large groups I tend to be on the quiet side - but I am not shy. Psychologically speaking - I am an outgoing introvert. Or in other words, I prefer a quiet, hole-in-the-wall bar over a flashy club.
Oh, in college I double-majored in Political Science and Psychology. I do not know why I studied Poly Sci - I hate politics. I also graduated in three years. If I had to do it over again - I would major in a different worthless degree, like classic British Literature!
Random things I enjoy: Bill Nye the Science guy, the B52s, my students, punk-rock, Charles Dickens, Jane Austen, Kurt Vonnegut, James Spader, Seals (not navy - the loud things in the ocean), Steve Merchant, Flogging Molly, the song 'Lovefool', teasing the innocent people I love (Mike), Orson Welles, and making a honking noise when I yawn.
Favorite Team (all sports): The Indianapolis Colts. No doubt about it. They looked like the little Giants this year (pre-Ice Box return and Devon Sawa explosion). Absolutely horrendous. But this team gets me excited about September, year after year. September should not be exciting to an educator. This is an accomplishment.
Favorite NFL team: The Indianapolis Colts. See above ramble for more mind-melting verbiage.
Favorite MLB team: The Yankees. There is something about $$$ and greed that turns me on. I may like sports…but I am still a woman.
Favorite NHL team: Now that is a sport I know nothing about. Do the mighty ducks count? Not the real team. The movies. You know, Emelio Estevez and that guy from that crappy show. Yeah, I know nothing about this sport.
Favorite NBA team: I grew up a Pacer fan. I follow them still but only through box scores. Mike and I do not have the NBA pass. But hey, I get all the Knicks games! But that is fine – I like Jeremy Lin. Oh, hey, it is comfortable in this bandwagon!
Why do you like sports? As a young kid, I wanted to be better at my brother at everything (especially sports). My competitive nature sort of steered me in the sports direction. I played basketball, softball, and golf as a kid. As I got older I developed a greater appreciation for the science and thinking aspects of sports – hence my love for Peyton Manning.
What is your favorite sports memory? 4th and 2!
Favorite Athlete: Peyton Manning. As I have said in the past, Peyton Manning is the Watson of quarterbacks. Brady, Rodgers, and Brees are all Tim Jennings. Now I am not taking anything away from them – they are talented turds…but Peyton is something special.
Favorite Golfer: Phil Mickelson. He went through a lot. He powered through. And he had me at the press conference when he said, “I am such an idiot.”
Dream Foursome (Golf): Me (obviously), Mike, Peyton Manning, and Mike Golic. Why Mike Golic? Because I am fairly confident that I would be better than him.
I should also note that I am a fan of Indiana University athletics. Why? I studied at that dry campus. It is weird, people, I actually grew up a Boilermakers fan. Go figure.

"I am such an idiot."
